Tips for Finding Clip Earrings

To tell you the truth, I have a bad relationship with my husband’s mother. I was concerned with this strained relationship with my mother-in-law because I get along well with most people. As a result, I always try hard to show an interest in what she was talking about. I also do my best to be helpful in the kitchen during family gatherings.

I would also spend a great deal of time trying to find the perfect present for her every Christmas. The problem is that I receive the same reserved thank you with some side comment about not liking the color or style of the item every year.

Fortunately, I was able to come terms with the poor relationship by talking to my sister-in-laws. I found out that they also do not have a good relationship with her. Like me, they were frustrated with her responses to their gifts and efforts.

We decided to go out for lunch and help our mother-in-law with shopping for holiday gifts. The first thing my mother in-law wanted to look for was clip earrings because the pairs that she had were uncomfortable and old. One of my sister-in-laws suggested that maybe she would want to pick out an outfit first and then find a pair of clip earrings to match. However, she insisted that she wants to find the jewelry first.

I have not looked at clip earrings for years because I have had pierced ears since I was a young girl. I was surprised to see that the new styles have the screw backs on like the old jewelry my mother had. You can control how tightly the clip earring fits so it is more comfortable with the help of the screw back.

Our mother-in-law found a pair of imitation pearl clip earrings so then she was ready to start looking for clothes. However, she only liked the clothing items that her daughter showed her. As a result, us daughter-in-laws kept quiet and let her try on the clothing her daughter chose.

We would pick out clip earrings and other jewelry to match without her knowing; when she did find outfits that she wanted. We wanted to have some surprises under the Christmas tree for her during the holiday season.

I found two pairs of clip earrings on sale for mother’s day. I had sent her a bouquet of flowers, but I also bought the jewelry. I was very happy when she was so pleased with the clip earrings I gave her. In fact, it is the first time she said a genuine thank you for a gift. I feel very proud whenever I see that she has one of the pairs of earrings on.
