Amethyst: February’s royal stone
Women lucky enough to have a February birthday love receiving their fabulous purple birthday as a gift. Amethyst, whether it’s a pale lilac or a deep reddish-purple, is a stone that everybody wants in their jewelry box. Quality amethyst, either the lighter colors from Brazil, or the deeper tones from mines in Africa, display incredible depth of color and sparkle when they are gem cut. Take our oval checkerboard brilliant-cut pendant. This huge Brazilian stone is so clear you can see through it, but the painstaking gem cuts give it plenty of shine. Or check out our huge brilliant-cut pendant, with its abundant fire and depth. Our step-cut amethyst bracelet shows off the brilliance of the gems as well. Amethyst also makes a gorgeous cabochon. The purple gem, when it’s just polished, makes an incredible solitaire, like in our rings, or as beads in our earrings and necklaces. Our deep purple African amethyst cabochon bracelet is so fabulous it will make you sigh! Amethyst is a popular stone in multi-gem pieces. You’ll find bracelets with amethyst paired with citrine and garnet. Or rings with amethyst, garnet, peridot and blue topaz. We even have earrings with amethyst, peridot and citrine. Multi-gemstone pieces are so wearable because you can mix them with different stones and the clothing options are endless. You’ll wear your multi-gem jewelry all the time! What if your February girl has a drawer full of amethyst already? Well, give her a special piece that will update her look. She is not likely to have anything like our silver hairclip with Brazilian amethyst stones or our African amethyst, carnelian and silver bead earrings. Other unusual pieces includes our high-dome, chalcedony cabochon ring studded with two Brazilian amethysts, and our Brazilian amethyst, African amethyst and ornate sterling silver bead bracelet.
